you knew it already

A small videopoem for the obvious reasons.
This is part of the so called “b-series”.
“b-series” is anything I do that doesn’t really have anything to do with The Kalevala meter project*…

*The Kaleva meter project is in finnish only (for now).

Well, you popped my cherry. (Glad I wasn’t saving it for later…) I’d never seen a real videopoem before – only poems read on video or whose text was displayed on video to some background music or picture.

I am absolutely amazed that a video of melting ice felt dramatic “simply” as a result of unreliable words that never quite completely arrived!

A new experience for me too. One that requires a deal of skill and talent to convey. Thanks.

I like the slow inexorable appearance of the words exactly and oppositely matching the slow inexorable disappearance of the ice. The video conjures a nice unstated metaphor of the ice as the undefined, unparsed, undissolved meaning, and understanding as a cumulative event, not a liminal one.

Thank you… sometimes all one needs is a small idea for a poem or in this case for a videopoem.

    This is just beautiful.
